Sources (Beyond The Perf, Stamp News Now) seem to indicate that the Twentieth-Century Poets stamps set, which includes Sylvia Plath and Theodore Roethke among others, will be released on 21 April 2012.
The other poets recognized, as Forever Stamps, are Elizabeth Bishop, Joseph Brodsky, Gwendolyn Brooks, E. E. Cummings, Robert Hayden, Denise Levertov, Wallace Stevens and William Carlos Williams.

Where's Robert Frost? That would have coincided quite nicely with the publication of my book on his work.
ReplyDeleteHi Tim!
ReplyDeleteRobert Frost was on a postage stamp in 1974, for the centenary of his birth. I don't think they like to issue more than one stamp for a person...I don't know this for a fact, but we're all about being fair here! Wouldn't want any dead poets having their feelings hurt, "But, Robert got two and I'm still at zero," said Ezra Pound to Adelaide Crapsey...
And by the way, Tim's book is The Art of Robert Frost, to be published on 30 April by Yale University Press. 408 delicious pages, ISBN: 9780300118131, Cloth price $35.
