The BBC has recently launched something called BBC Genome (currently in BETA). The site "contains the BBC listings information which the BBC printed in Radio Times between 1923 and 2009. You can search the site for BBC programmes, people, dates and Radio Times editions." As you might have guessed, I searched for … Sylvia Plath . I also searched Ted Hughes and Frieda Hughes . The website offers two major ways to access listing information. One is a blanket, standard search (with advanced searching available, too). Another is to browse the separate issues of Radio Times (and by doing so, you can see a select few of the actual covers -- greedily I would love to see them all). I like both methods, but have to admit it is easier to search the Radio Times listings if I know the exact date for the broadcast in which I am interested. Ann Skea has recently published her fifth chapter exploring the journey of Sylvia Plath's Ariel and the Tarot. This chapter looks as the remarkable poems "Ariel," "Death & Co.," "Magi," and "Lesbos." Skea's insights into these poems are quite interesting to read and well-written. It certainly is interesting to read about these poems from this angle. Ace work. I think I like this, best: "Plath, whose whole concern in Ariel was to free the creative energies which inspired her, seems, in 'Death & Co.', to have intuited a poetic meaning to this card. 'Thalidomide', 'Barren Woman' and, in particular, her earlier poem 'Stillborn' (June/July 1960) offer a clue: Plath's poems are her babies, without inspiration she is barren; influenced by the wrong energies, they may be deformed; without spirit, they are dead."

Scholar Ann Skea has recently added a number of new chapters to her " Sylvia Plath's Ariel and the Tarot " page. New chapters 2, 3, and 4 are now on line and examine: 2 looks at "Thalidomide", "The Applicant", "Barren Woman", and "Lady Lazarus" . 3 looks at "Tulips", "A Secret", and "The Jailer" . 4 looks at "Elm", "The Night Dances", and "The Detective" . Additionally, and though they may be subject to change, chapter 5 and 6 and what is included in them is also presented.
