One month from today, on Sunday, 8 April 2018, Karen V. Kukil and I will be speaking on the Letters of Sylvia Plath in a program titled "On Sylvia Plath's Letters" in the Weill Art Gallery at the 92nd Street Y, located at 1395 Lexington Avenue, New York, New York 10128. The event is part of the Y's Books & Bagels series and is part of the Unterberg Poetry Series.
The talk starts at 11 am and will be followed by a Q & A session and then a light brunch. Tickets for the event are $42.
Very excited to participate in this event with Karen and at such an historically significant venue.

So sad..another SP event i will miss.. another special opportunity I had to finally know you and Karen personally..another time for me to have to feel frustrated and angry to accept the downside to have to live so far away..almost on another planet, when almost nobody knows who SP is and where u find no books from and about her except only for The Bell Jar, Letters Home and Johnny Panic and the Bible of Dreams and only 1 (I repeat one!) biography. What a shame! So, I'll have to accept to miss this amazing and so interesting event and the dream to shake hands with u, Peter and Karen and I'll just have to virtually (but still with my whole heart) send u both my best wishes for the event (secretly hoping that a streaming of it will be possible so to have the luck to watch it from here)
ReplyDeleteMy best greetings from this faaaaar land of mine,
Alina -full of rage ;-)
Score! You'll both be in NYC - I can't wait.
ReplyDeleteAlina! I'll find out about any possibility of it being recorded and/or broadcast over the Interwebs.
ReplyDeleteEva! Score, indeed! Excited to see you again and longer for 32 seconds this time!

Oh wow, Peter, that would be awesome! Thank you! but you don't have to go through all the trouble for me only; you're too kind, I don't want any special treatment, who am I to get it.. just do it only in case if there is also other people (who cannot be there) with the same wish to watch it on the internet.
ReplyDeleteHave a great day/weekend,take care
xo Alina
Thank you so much for the lovely lecture today at the 92 Street Y. It was fascinating and I just wish I could hear it again so as to not miss any details. I'm quite shy so I couldn't ask any questions but thankfully others had good ones. Hope to see you and Karen again after Vol 2 has been published.
ReplyDeleteEva, Thank you so much for coming and I am still so so sorry about the ink smudge on your book. I am very glad that you were able to make it and that you seemed to have enjoyed it! I too hope to be invited to more talks in your city! ~pks
